What types of timber do you stock?

We carry a wide range of softwoods and hardwoods including pine, oak, larch, douglas fir, and treated structural timber. We also stock sheet materials such as plywood, OSB, MDF, and chipboard, as well as decking, fencing, cladding, and mouldings. If you need something specific, give us a call and we'll do our best to source it.

Do you sell both treated and untreated timber?

Yes. We stock timber in both treated (pressure-impregnated) and untreated finishes. Treated timber is ideal for external use — fencing posts, decking joists, and garden structures — where moisture resistance is important. Untreated timber is better suited for internal joinery and furniture work. Our team can advise which is right for your project.

Can you cut timber to size?

Absolutely. We offer a cutting service in-yard so you can get exactly what you need without waste. Whether it's a single length or a full project cut list, bring your measurements and we'll do the rest. Please note, very large or complex cutting orders may require a little notice.

Do you stock decking and fencing materials?

Yes — we carry a good range of decking boards, fence panels, posts, rails, gravel boards, and trellis. We stock popular sizes as standard, and can order in less common profiles. We also carry the fixings, hardware, and preservatives you'll need to complete the job.

Do you keep everything in stock, or is it made to order?

Most of our standard lines are held in stock at the yard and available for immediate collection or next-day delivery. Specialist timbers, large quantities, or non-standard sizes may need to be ordered in — typically a few days' lead time. It's always worth calling ahead for large jobs so we can make sure everything's ready for you.

Can I check stock availability before visiting?

Yes, please do — especially for large orders or less common materials. Give us a call and we'll check availability straight away and reserve what you need. This saves you a wasted trip and ensures your timber is ready to collect or load when you arrive

Can you source specialist or non-standard timber?

In most cases, yes. We have established relationships with a number of sawmills and suppliers, so if it's not on the yard we can usually source it. This includes non-standard lengths, wide boards, specific grades, and species we don't hold as standard stock. Lead times vary, so get in touch as early as possible on your project.

Do you sell to the public as well as trade?

Yes — we're open to both trade and retail customers. Trade account holders benefit from credit terms, agreed pricing, and priority service. Members of the public are equally welcome to purchase any quantity, from a single board to a full lorry load. No job is too big or too small.

Can I open a trade account?

Yes. If you're a builder, joiner, contractor, or landscaper, a trade account makes ordering quicker and easier. Accounts come with agreed pricing, monthly invoicing, and a dedicated point of contact. Get in touch or visit the yard to discuss setting one up — approval is usually straightforward for established businesses.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, card payments (debit and credit), and BACS bank transfer. Trade account customers are invoiced monthly and can pay by BACS. We don't currently accept cheques.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes. We deliver throughout Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, and the wider East Midlands area. Our vehicles can handle everything from small drops to full packs of structural timber. Delivery charges depend on location and order size — contact us for a quote. We can often accommodate next-day or same-week delivery for in-stock items.

What areas do you deliver to?

We regularly deliver across Swadlincote, Burton upon Trent, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Lichfield, Derby, and the surrounding areas of South Derbyshire, North Leicestershire, and Staffordshire. For deliveries further afield, get in touch and we'll see what we can arrange.

Can I collect from the yard myself?

Yes — collection is always welcome. Our yard is set up for easy loading, and our team will help get your order onto your vehicle safely. If you're bringing a van or trailer, let us know when you call ahead and we'll have everything staged and ready for you.

Is your timber sustainably sourced?

Yes. We take responsible sourcing seriously and work with suppliers whose timber comes from sustainably managed forests. Much of our softwood stock is FSC or PEFC certified. If you need certified timber for a specific project or planning requirement, let us know and we'll make sure what you receive carries the right documentation.

Do you sell reclaimed or recycled timber?

We occasionally have reclaimed timber available, depending on what's come in. It's worth calling ahead if you're specifically after reclaimed materials — availability varies. Reclaimed oak and pine beams are the most common, and they're popular for character furniture and renovation projects.
